DR. SIMON J. AGGER, DC

Simon J. Agger, DC, graduated from Western States Chiropractic College in 1997. In 1998 he took over a 35 year old practice and has been there ever since. He has a passion for his work and truly believes that we can get the most out of our bodies if we can just give them the right support: Whole food nutrition, functional testing, exercise, positive thinking, soft tissue and structural support through regular Chiropractic Care. In his years of practice, he has come to see that it is much easier to “stay well” than to “get well”.

Dr. Agger was born and raised in the scenic village of Queniborough, outside of Leicester, in the East-Midlands of England. As he puts it,”Queniborough is located halfway between Robinhood and Shakespeare.” He has been interested in health and nutrition since he was a teenager. He received his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Wolverhampton, in England. His interest in travel first brought him across the Atlantic in 1990, where he met his wife, Jo Ellen, in the Grand Canyon.

He studied massage and reflexology while in the USA, and practiced both prior to studying Chiropractic Medicine. During this time, he received his first spinal adjustment. It felt so good that he thought someone had just oiled his joints, and he knew then that he wanted to learn how to do that!

When he returned to England in 1991, he was part of one of the first Alternative Health clinics in Leicester, which included Osteopathic and Chiropractic Physicians, Massage Therapists, and Acupuncturists. He has lived in the United States since he returned in 1992, married the woman in the Canyon and attended Chiropractic College.

Dr. Agger treats the full spine and extremities using Diversified, Drop-Table and Activator techniques. Functional Testing, Nutritional Response Testing, whole food nutrition and lifestyle counseling are also a very big part of the practice. The practice includes several generations of families, bus drivers, police and firemen, teachers, business professionals, doctors, attorneys, gardeners, and amateur and professional artists and athletes. In addition to his work at the clinic, he is an Attending Physician with the dancers at the Oregon Ballet Theatre on a weekly basis, as part of a plan to improve their structural health, strength, flexibility, and reduce injury. He is a Mentor/preceptor for both Chiropractic Interns/New Doctors, and also for Functional Medicine and Nutrition Masters Program students/ interns at the University of Western States. He also educates other healthcare practitioners on the many common health conditions seen in the clinic and the clinical innovations the clinic has success with, using natural alternatives, to support the bodies healing processes.

He and his wife, Jo Ellen, who manages the clinic, have two teen-aged children. In his personal life, Dr. Agger is very involved in soccer, as a player, as a coach for his children’s teams, a past board member on the local club in his community, and as a lifelong fan of Manchester City Football Club. He and his family also support the Portland Timbers. Dr. Agger welcomes you to our clinic and looks forward to making a positive contribution to your health and well-being.
